Melinda Kunyi, MA, RPsych
Melinda Kunyi is an EMDR-trained Registered Psychologist practicing at ARCH Psychological Services in Calgary. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Athabasca University in Calgary and went on to earn her Master of Arts in Psychology, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy, from California Southern University in California, USA. Melinda has extensive training in areas such as trauma, risk, and harm-reduction, with certifications from AHS Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter, and other esteemed institutions. With experience across private practice, child protection services, and addiction recovery, Melinda provides individualized therapeutic services for individuals, couples, and families dealing with complex psychological concerns, including trauma, depression, anxiety, and substance use. Her approach is integrative, drawing on Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Mindfulness-Based techniques, allowing her to tailor interventions to each client's unique needs. Melinda sees therapy as a collaborative journey and considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients through life’s peaks and valleys. She believes in the importance of a safe, empathetic, and non-judgmental therapeutic space, where clients can explore their challenges, recognize growth opportunities, and move beyond perceived limitations.
