Hilda
Huj
is

and

Psychologist
in
the
province
of
Alberta.
She
completed
a
Bachelor
of
Arts
and
Master
of
Arts
degree
in
Psychology
in
Osijek,
Croatia,
and
subsequently
equated
her
academic
credentials
to
Canadian
standards.
Hilda
shows
her
dedication
to
psychology
by
contributing
to
different
communities
through
her
volunteer
efforts,
as
well
as
professional
mental
health
services.
Currently,
in
addition
to
her
work
for
ARCH
Psychological
Services,
Hilda
volunteers
with
the
Edmonton
Police
Services
as
a
Victim
Support
Worker
and
also
helps
to
promote
Psychology
by
volunteering
for
the
Psychologists’
Association
of
Alberta.
She
is
very
passionate
about
Psychology
and
writes
monthly
articles
for
Theravive.com,
where
she discusses a variety of contemporary topics.
Hilda
specializes
in
working
with
youth,
adults
and
families
that
have
been
impacted
by
trauma.
She
believes
that
we
all
can
experience
trauma
in
many
ways.
It
can
be
the
neglect
and
abuse
we
suffered
from,
as
well
as
exposure
to
different
types
of
crime.
No
matter
the
form,
trauma
always
has
a
significant
and
complex
impact
on
our
well-being.
This
impact
can
often
be
seen
in
development
of
different
symptoms,
which
may
escalate
to
a
point
of
a
mood,
anxiety,
conduct,
or
even
a
personality
disorder.
Given
the
nature
of
trauma
and
the
turmoil
these
arising
symptoms
can
cause,
trauma
can
be
very
difficult
to
face
and
cope
with
appropriately.
To
facilitate
this
healing
process,
in
her
work,
Hilda
uses
an
integrative
approach
tailored
to
suit
her
client’s
unique
values,
needs,
experiences,
and
circumstances.
She
finds
this
kind
of
approach
important
because
it
promotes
healing
through
a
non-
judgemental,
interpersonal,
supportive,
and
cooperative
therapeutic
relationship.
A
therapeutic
relationship
that
is
open
to
the
use
of
various
elements of specific therapies.
Hilda
also
provides
services
in
Croatian,
Serbian,
Bosnian, and Montenegrin.
