Aisha Penddah, Intern
Aisha
has
completed
her
coursework
for
the
Master
of
Counselling
program
at
City
University
of
Seattle
and
is
currently
a
practicum
student.
Aisha
will
be
providing
assessments
and
therapeutic
services
for
children,
adolescents,
and
adults
at
a
reduced
rate
until
September
2023.
Aisha’s
years
of
experience
in
the
mental
health
field
included
behavioral
consultation
and
coaching,
crisis
intervention,
psychological
assessment
administration,
and
mental
health
advocacy,
for
children,
adolescents,
and
adults
with
complex
needs
and
diagnoses.
Aisha
believes
in
fostering
a
therapeutic
relationship
built
on
trust,
empathy,
collaboration,
and
respect;
and
it’s
through
this
relationship
that
she
creates
a
safe
and
supportive space for her clients.
Aisha
utilizes
cognitive
behavioral
therapy
and
solution
focused
therapy,
and
she
takes
eclectic
approach
within
practice,
as
appropriate
to
best
suit
her
client’s
needs.
Furthermore,
Aisha
adopts
a
holistic
and
culturally
informed
approach
that
acknowledges
her
client's
physical,
emotional,
social,
and
spiritual
well-being,
while
also
recognizing
the
importance
of
culture
in
all
aspects
of
life.
Aisha
demonstrates
cultural
awareness
in
her
therapeutic
work
by
prioritizing
learning
about
clients'
cultures
in
order
to
better
understand
their
experiences
and
to
acknowledge,
honor,
and
validate
their
unique
intersecting
identities,
experiences,
and
perspectives.
Aisha
is
working
under
the
supervision
of
Registered
Clinical and Forensic Psychologist, Ms. Hilda Huj.
