Services

Programs and Specialized Psychological Services

At ARCH Psychological Services, we are committed to making expert mental health care accessible to all Albertans. In addition to our private therapy and assessment services, we are proud to participate in government-funded programs, cultural mental health initiatives, and caregiver support services.

As registered providers for several federal and provincial mental health programs, we offer free or funded therapy options to eligible individuals, including Indigenous clients, Métis community members, military veterans, refugees, and foster caregivers.

Through these programs, we provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based therapy to those who may otherwise face barriers to mental health support.

Indigenous Community

ARCH Psychological Services has been deeply involved in Indigenous mental health care since 1987, working in partnership with communities across Alberta. Our team provides culturally responsive therapy that integrates relational healing practices, Indigenous worldviews, and community-driven values.

We are registered providers under several Health Canada–funded programs, including:

  • Non-Insured Health Benefit Program (NIHB) – Therapy at no cost for First Nations individuals with treaty status.
  • Indian Residential Schools Resolution Health Support Program (IRSRHSP) – Specialized trauma support for residential school survivors.
  • Indian Day School Health Support Services (IDS HSS) – Support for those affected by Indian Day Schools.
  • Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Program – Therapy for families impacted by MMIWG-related trauma.

We also offer services tailored to the unique cultural identity of Métis clients. Our team integrates Métis traditions, history, and perspectives into therapy to ensure care is both respectful and effective. Specialized mental health services are available to Métis individuals, families, and communities through this program stream.

Veteran Affairs Canada

ARCH Psychological Services is a registered provider of psychotherapy and counselling for military veterans, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF), and Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) members. Our clinicians are experienced in addressing the complex mental health challenges that can arise from service, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), operational stress injuries, and the transition to civilian life.

We understand that seeking help can be daunting. At ARCH, we strive to create a supportive environment where clients feel safe to begin their healing journey. Our team is equipped to provide trauma-informed care tailored to each individual’s unique experiences and needs.

Eligible clients can access therapy services through VAC funding, with direct billing available to minimize out-of-pocket expenses. We are committed to making mental health support accessible and effective for those who have served our communities and country.

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA)

Being involved in a motor vehicle accident can lead to psychological challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). ARCH Psychological Services offers assessments and therapy to address these issues, helping individuals regain their mental well-being.

If you were involved in an accident within the past two years, you may be eligible for psychological services coverage through your auto insurance’s Section B benefits or extended health care plans. Under Alberta’s Bill 41, individuals experiencing MVA-related injuries and trauma have access to psychological support.

Interim Federal Health Program

The Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP) provides temporary health coverage for individuals who do not yet qualify for provincial or territorial health insurance. ARCH Psychological Services offers therapy and psychological assessments to:

  • Resettled refugees
  • Protected persons in Canada
  • Refugee claimants
  • Victims of human trafficking and domestic violence

We provide trauma-informed therapy to address the emotional and psychological impact of displacement, violence, and migration-related stress.

Alberta Foster Caregivers

ARCH Psychological Services is committed to supporting foster caregivers and their families. As of November 30, 2023, Children and Family Services (CFS) provides up to five fully funded therapy sessions per year for licensed foster caregivers. These sessions can be used for:

  • Individual therapy for foster caregivers
  • Couples or family counselling
  • Support for children in foster care

Foster caregivers can access therapy through ARCH or other private providers, with potential reimbursement options available.

Autism Canada – Community Assistance Program (CAP)

ARCH Psychological Services is a registered provider under Autism Canada’s Community Assistance Program (CAP), a national initiative offering financial support to autistic individuals and their families. CAP helps subsidize essential services such as psychological assessments, therapy, early intervention, and respite care—particularly where provincial funding may be limited or unavailable.

As a CAP-approved provider, ARCH offers eligible clients access to services that may be partially funded through this program. Applications must be submitted by a registered clinician on behalf of the client. CAP funding is available Canada-wide and is designed to reduce financial barriers to timely, personalized care.
