Vlad's Biography

Vladimir (Vlad) Pintaric is a Registered Provisional Psychologist in the Province of Alberta who is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Prior to relocating to Canada, he completed graduate studies in Law in Croatia. With a longstanding interest in psychology and human behaviour, he subsequently completed a Master of Science in Forensic Psychology at Walden University.

Vlad brings an interdisciplinary perspective to his work, integrating legal and psychological knowledge to support a nuanced understanding of behaviour, mental health, and contextual influences. His background in forensic psychology informs a structured, analytically grounded, and pragmatic approach to clinical practice. He is currently working in the areas of clinical and counselling psychology, providing psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation to children, youth, and adults.

In his therapy, assessment, and consultation work, Vlad supports individuals who have been impacted by trauma. He conceptualizes trauma as a universal and multifaceted human experience that can significantly affect emotional well-being, relationships, and overall functioning, often presenting through mood disturbances, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, and related concerns.

Vlad uses an integrative, client-centered approach that is adapted to each person’s values, needs, and life situation. He focuses on building a collaborative, non-judgemental relationship where clients feel safe, understood, and able to speak openly, while also keeping sessions practical and goal-oriented. His aim is that each session leads to something concrete, whether that is a useful insight, a clear strategy, or a specific step that can be applied in everyday life. A central part of his work is helping clients reconnect with a sense of positive energy, understood as a more constructive, engaged, and forward-moving emotional state. He actively supports clients in shifting out of patterns that feel stuck or discouraging, and toward states that increase motivation, clarity, and openness to change, strengthening a sense of hope and improving the likelihood of meaningful, sustainable change.

Vlad’s style is dynamic, energetic, and analytical, while also remaining calm, focused, and fully attentive to the client. He balances active engagement with careful listening and thoughtful reflection, allowing him to explore concerns in depth and help clients move forward in a clear, practical way.

His work also incorporates attention to the somatic dimensions of experience, recognizing the role of physiological processes in the development and maintenance of trauma-related symptoms. Drawing from approaches such as Hakomi and integrating evidence-based.
