Shea holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Psychology with a concentration in Forensic Psychology and has completed a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University. She is in the process of registering with the College of Alberta Psychologists. Currently, she is a Mental Health Therapist at ARCH Psychological Services, where she provides therapeutic services to individuals, including children over the age of ten, adults, and families at a reduced rate.
She brings a wealth of experience from her frontline mental health work with diverse populations, equipping her with a deep understanding of the complexities involved in supporting individuals in various circumstances. She has also worked directly with sentenced and incarcerated individuals and those navigating substance use challenges, further enriching her ability to provide compassionate and effective care.
As a developing mental health professional, Shea adopts an eclectic therapeutic approach, drawing primarily from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Shea’s practice is rooted in person-centred therapy, emphasizing acceptance, empathy, and authentic connection. She is deeply committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all individuals, including members of the 2SLGBTQ+ community. As an ally, Shea actively promotes diversity, equity, and respect in her work.
Shea is under the supervision of Ms. Hilda Huj, a Registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist, ensuring her services are delivered with the highest professional and ethical standards.
