Elena is a Registered Provisional Psychologist. She obtained her Master of Counselling degree at the City University of Seattle. Elena provides assessment and therapy for children (ages 4+), adolescents, and adults at ARCH Psychological Services, under the supervision of Registered Clinical and Forensic Psychologist Hilda Huj.
In her work, Elena emphasizes fostering a relationship grounded in trust, empathy, and collaboration. She creates a secure and supportive space where clients feel validated and understood. With a person-centered, integrative approach, Elena incorporates techniques from various therapeutic models, including EMDR, to meet each client’s unique needs, demonstrating cultural awareness by learning about clients’ intersecting identities, backgrounds, and perspectives to honour and respect their experiences.
Elena’s experience as a distress line volunteer and work at ARCH Psychological Services have equipped her with essential skills in crisis intervention and mental health advocacy. She is passionate about supporting individuals from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, promoting accessible mental health care, and standing as an ally for 2SLGBTQ+ individuals. Elena places a particular focus on trauma-informed care, offering compassionate support to clients working through trauma as well as symptoms that often correlate with trauma, such as both internalizing and externalizing disturbances.
Elena is available to see clients in Edmonton, offering both in-person and online sessions, providing affirming, trauma-informed, evidence-based support for individuals seeking growth and healing. In addition to English, Elena also provides services in Croatian, Serbian, Bosnian, and Montenegrin.
