Shealane Gienow
Intern
Shea
holds
a
Bachelor
of
Arts
degree
in
Law
and
Psychology
with
a
concentration
in
Forensic
Psychology
and
has
completed
her
coursework
for
the
Master
of
Arts
in
Counselling
Psychology
at
Yorkville
University.
Currently,
she
is
a
practicum
student
at
ARCH
Psychological
Services,
where
she
provides
assessments
and
therapeutic
services
to
individuals,
including
children
over
the
age
of
ten,
adults,
and
families, until April 2025.
Shea
brings
a
wealth
of
experience
from
her
frontline
mental
health
work
with
diverse
populations,
equipping
her
with
a
deep
understanding
of
the
complexities
involved
in
supporting
individuals
in
various
circumstances.
She
has
also
worked
directly
with
sentenced
individuals
and
those
navigating
substance
use
challenges,
further
enriching
her
ability
to
provide
compassionate
and
effective
care.
As
a
developing
mental
health
professional,
Shea
adopts
an
eclectic
therapeutic
approach,
drawing
primarily
from
CBT,
ACT,
and
Motivational
Interviewing
(MI).
She
is
eager
to
expand
her
expertise
in
advanced
modalities
such
as
EMDR
and
the
Berlin
Dissexuality
Therapy
(BEDIT)
in the future.
Shea’s
practice
is
rooted
in
person-centered
therapy,
emphasizing
acceptance,
empathy,
and
authentic
connection.
She
is
deeply
committed
to
creating
a
safe,
inclusive,
and
affirming
space
for
all
individuals,
including
members
of
the
2SLGBTQ+
community.
As
an
ally,
Shea
actively
promotes
diversity,
equity,
and

Shea
is
completing
her
practicum
under
the
supervision
of
Ms.
Hilda
Huj,
a
Registered
Clinical
and
Forensic
Psychologist,
ensuring
her
services
are
delivered
with
the
highest
professional
and
ethical
standards.
During
this
time,
she
is
committed
to
providing
her
services
at
a
low
cost
or
on
a
pro-bono
basis,
further
exemplifying
her
dedication
to
the
well-being
of
the
clients
she
serves.
