Karen Gregory is a Provisionally Registered Psychologist in the province of Alberta, and an experienced mental health therapist. Based in our Grande Prairie office, Karen also provides services to the High Prairie Youth Assessment Centre.  She has been actively involved with the Mental Health Initiative in Northwest Alberta, which involves assessing and providing mental health focused treatment plans for children transitioning into care. Karen is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), which she finds useful for clients who have experienced trauma or who feel “stuck” in the therapy process. Karen follows a client-centered approach to therapy, balancing the line between the client being in the driver’s seat and being directive. She uses her authenticity, empathy and compassion to establish connections with individuals who are often guarded and mistrusting. For two years, Karen volunteered at the Sexual Assault Centre, working with clients on trauma recovery during various stages of the healing process.  She has experience working with individuals with many challenges, including realistic goal setting and achievement, addictions, personality disorders and crisis management. She can be reached at 780-532-9213. Email: karen.gregory@archpsychological.com
