The Cost of Psychological Services The   cost   of   psychological   services   depends   on   the   nature   of   the   service,   and   will   be   discussed with   you   before   commencing.   However,   it   is   important   to   note   that   our   fees   are   consistent   with the   guidelines   as   set   out   by   the   Psychologists’   Association   of   Alberta’s   (PAA)   Recommended Fee Schedule. Most   individuals   who   seek   psychological   services   are   pleased   to   discover   they   have   coverage for   psychological   services   through   their      insurance   companies   and   insurance   plans.   Oftentimes, extended   health   benefits   through   employment,   union,   Blue   Cross,   or   health   plans   for   specific groups   such   as   First   Nations,   veterans   and   military   personnel   will   cover   some   or   all   of   the   cost. Government   and   social   programs   such   as   Child   Welfare   may   also   cover   psychological   services. However,   it   is   important   to   note   that   pychological   services   are   not   covered   by   the   provincial health   insurance.   When   costs   of   psychological   services   are   not   covered   by   a   third   party,   they   are claimable as a tax deduction.
