Diana Johanson, MC, RPsych
Diana Johanson is an EMDR-trained Registered Psychologist practicing at ARCH Psychological Services in Calgary. She completed her Master of Counselling at Athabasca University and holds a Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from York University, New Brunswick. Diana has additional training and certifications in Play Therapy, Reality Therapy, and Applied Suicide Intervention (ASIST), with over 20 years of experience. She continues to expand her expertise through ongoing professional development. Diana’s primary areas of interest are working with children, teens, adults, and families, offering both therapeutic services and formal assessments. Her approach is integrative and tailored, combining techniques from CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Play Therapy. Diana’s therapeutic stance is directive yet supportive, helping clients foster a positive self-image and a healthier perspective on their surroundings. She specializes in a range of assessments, including psychoeducational evaluations for various needs and purposes, as well as parenting assessments in the context of child protection services and family law, such as Practice Note 7 and 8 assessments. Diana is passionate about community and group work and has facilitated children’s groups focused on parental separation and divorce, as well as school and personal functioning. She believes in the power of a supportive, non- judgmental therapeutic relationship to guide clients through challenging life experiences and promote resilience. Diana’s commitment to empathy, openness, and integrity is evident in her ability to form and maintain strong therapeutic relationships across diverse backgrounds.
